DUSHANBE, July 21, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The state unity enterprise Tojikagroleasing (agricultural machine leasing) has signed contracts with agricultural machinery plants in Belarus and Uzbekistan on purchase of agricultural machines for a total amount of 7.7 million somonis, the Deputy Agriculture Minister, Mahmoud Qodirov, said.  

According to him, the major part of these machines is expected to be delivered to the country before the end of this month.  

“The Tojikagroleasing signed the contract with the Belarus tractor plant on purchase of 62 tractors of the model 82-1-80, 14  potato combiners and model and 40 cultivators, plows and tractor trailers for $1.2 million,” said the deputy minister.  “They have also reached an agreement with Uzbek plants on purchase of 20 tractors MTZ-80, potato combine, plows and cultivators.”  

  He further added that Tojikagroleasing has received 68 applications from farming units for leasing agricultural machines so far.  “Last week, four tractors MS-288 produced at the Tajik-Iranian joint venture TojIron were leased to farming units in the Vahdat district and the Khatlon province,” Qodirov said.

We will recall that the state unitary enterprise Tojikagroleasing was established at the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) on November 30, 2007.  The national budget will provide totaling 8 million somonis to the enterprise within the first five years.
