DUSHANBE, July 24, 2008, Asia-Plus  — 47 teachers from the city of Roghun and the Nourobod district are receiving diplomas of secondary pedagogical education today.

200 teachers without special pedagogical education graduated from a special externship in February this year.

They studied two years for an external degree.  The two-year externship was organized for teachers without special pedagogical within the framework of the education development support program.

These 200 teachers were competitively selected from 344 teachers working with schools in Vahdat, Roghun, Kulob, Vose, Fayzobod and Nourobod.

According to the project management unit of the Ministry of Education (MoE), the majority of those teachers passed their examinations in late February and early March, while 23 teachers from Roghun  and 24 others from Nourobod could not arrive in Dushanbe to take examinations because of band conditions and examinations for them were postponed until summer.  These 47 teachers will be given their diplomas today.

We will recall that according to the Ministry of Education, Tajikistan now has more than 6,000 teaching vacancies.
