DUSHANBE, July 24, 2008, Asia-Plus  — 74,573 hectares of lands released after wheat-harvesting campaign have already been sown with other agricultural crops, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA). 

In all, more than 100,000 hectares of lands released after grain-harvesting campaign will be sown with other crops this year, the source at a MoA said.    

According to him, farming units in the Khatlon provinces have carried out repeated sowing on 52,235 hectares so far, which is 87.8 percent of areas is allotted for repeated sowing.  

In the Sughd province, repeated sowing has been carried out on only 40.4 percent of such lands.  

Farmers plant mainly industrial crops, vegetable, rice, watermelons, melons and gourds as well as beans on the released areas.
