DUSHANBE, July 28, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Tajik joint-stock commercial industrial bank, TajPromBank, has provided 6.247 million somonis to date to fund development of the cotton sector in the southern Khatlon province, Asia-Plus has learned at head office of TajPromBank in Dushanbe.  

The allocated funds included 4 million somonis provided by the government for financing of the cotton sector and 2.247 million somonis of bank’s own funds.  

The TajPromBank source said that the bank provides loans to cotton-growing farms at 18 percent annual interest.   

Founded in 1995, TajPromBank, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has 17 branches across the country.
