DUSHANBE, July 31, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will conduct an antiterror drill in Russia’s Volgograd region in the near future, according to the SCO website.  

The exercise scenario is based on planning and practical organization of antiterror operations and measures to prevent threat of terrorist attacks on strategically important facilities and rehearse coordination and interaction in preventing attack on the nuclear power plant.  

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization members are China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.  India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan have status of observe.
