DUSHANBE, August 7, 2008, Asia-Plus — Cooperation contracts for a total amount of 189 million US dollars have been singed with more than 30 Chinese companies on sidelines of China’s national exhibition in Dushanbe, Odil Sangov, the first deputy head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, the exhibition proved to be very efficient for Tajik entrepreneurs and further expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and China.
We will recall that Chinese national four-day, entitled “Chinese-Tajik Trade and Investments”, was held at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe from July 29 to August 1.
More than 70 large companies from six Chinese provinces participated in the exhibition. Among them are China’s largest wireless and telecommunications manufacturer, ZTE, Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Co., Ltd (TBEA), Huawei (telecommunications producer), China Road, etc.
They put on display their achievements in machinery, mining, telecommunications, jewelry and light industry at the fair.
Representatives of a delegation of China’s Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR) that was represented in the exhibition by eight companies signed four agreements with Tajik companies on delivery of cement, paper, two elevators for multistory residential buildings, and the beer production components to Tajikistan. Chinese entrepreneurs invited their Tajik colleagues to attend the Chinese-Asian economic forum that will be held in Urumqi in September and the second Urumqi motor exhibition due on October 15.
