DUSHANBE, August 14, 2008, Asia-Plus  — More than 700 local and foreign reporters are expected to cover work of a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that will be held in Dushanbe on August 28, Davlat Nazriyev, head of the MFA information department, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  

According to him, a process of accreditation of journalists with the ministry is under way.  “To date, representatives of media from the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation, China, Iran, Japan, Sweden, and other countries have applied to the Tajik MFA for accreditation,” Nazriyev said.

Reporters will be able to cover the summit from summit’s press center that will be opened in the new building of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and participate at a press conference that will be given by the SCO heads of state in the Somon Palace, the MFA spokesman noted.
