KHUAJND, August 14, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A woman from Isfara has been detained on suspicion of having been involved in trafficking in psychotropic substances.

According to the Sughd police directorate, an operation, dubbed Morphine, carried out by local police recently led to the arrest of the 48-yearold resident of the city of Isfara, Ms. Hadiaykhon Khalilova. 

“16 ampoules and 170 pills of diazepam and 480 pills of phenobarbital (luminal) were found in her house,” the source said, noting that those medications relate to the psychotropic substances.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Ms. Khalilova under the provisions of Article 200, Part 1 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – trafficking in drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, and an investigation is under way.
