DUSHANBE, August 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Defense Minister, Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, will attend a regular session of the council of the CIS defense ministers that will be held in Yerevan, Armenia on August 21.   

According to the Ministry of Defense (MoD), the ministers are scheduled to discuss issues related to providing security within the CIS area and interaction between the defense ministries of member nations of the CIS in different fields.  

The session participants also plan to discuss the recent developments in South Ossetia as well as the cause and consequences of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict.      

We will recal that by resolution of the CIS heads of state the council of the CIS defense ministers was established on February 14, 1992.
