DUSHANBE, August 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A number of cooperation documents are scheduled to be signed during official visits of Chinese (Hu Jintao) Russian (Dmitry Medvedev) president to Tajikistan, according to the Tajik MFA.

The source at a MFA refrained from naming the documents that will be signed, noting that they are still under consideration.

An official visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao will start on August 27.  After his bilateral meeting with President Emomali Rahmon, an enlarged meeting of the delegations of the two countries will be held that will end with signing of the cooperation documents.  The same day, Mr. Hu is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov and heads of both chambers of Tajikistan’s parliament.  

Russian President Medvedev’s official visit to Tajikistan will be held on August 29.  The Russian head of state will also hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov and heads of both chambers of Tajikistan’s parliament.  An enlarged meeting with participation of the delegations of Tajikistan and Russia is expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation agreements.  During his stay in Dushanbe, President Medvedev is also scheduled to visit headquarters of Russian military base in Tajikistan.
