KHUAJND, August 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Sughd committee for youth, sports and tourism affairs has instituted awards for contributions in the areas of science, culture and media.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Faridoun Hodiboyev, lead specialist with the Sughd youth committee, said that based on submissions and recommendations of theme groups recipients from among young researchers, artistes, painters, sculptors, composers and journalists living in the Sughd province will be selected as prize winners for their contributions in the areas of science, culture and media.   The amount of grant is 500 somonis.  

“The youth committee awards have been instituted in line with the country’s law on youth and youth policy and the Sughd youth social development program for 2007-2009,” Hodiboyev said.
