DUSHANBE, August 25, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Within the framework of the Virtual Reading Halls of Library of Theses at the CIS National Libraries project, Tajikistan’s National Public Firdavsi Library and a library at Russia-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) have been connected to the electronic catalogue of research theses received by Russian State Library in Moscow, according to the website of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund (IHCF).  

Along with two Tajik libraries, national libraries of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan have also get access to the electronic catalogue of the research theses in the Russian State Library.  

The project, which provides for making access to the digital library of theses available for national libraries of the CIS states, has been implemented by the Russian State Library under support of the CIS IHCF.

Nine libraries from eight CIS states have participated in the project so far.  This year, the number of participating libraries will increase, the IHCF said.
