KHUJAND, October 22, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A female drug peddler, M. Ashourova, died in the northern city of Qairoqqum on October 15 as several wraps of drugs she ingested burst.

According to the Sughd police directorate, M. Ashourova was hospitalized on October 15 with symptom of poisoning. 

“It turned out that she had ingested 50 wraps of heroin.  On October 15, she was going to travel to the Russian city of Yekaterinburg by plane with drugs in her stomach,” said the source.  “The drug peddler slumped at the departure hall of the Khujand airport and she was taken to the hospital in the Qairoqqum.” 

Ashourova died in resuscitation department several hours after admission to the hospital.   Pathologic examination has shown that 17 of 50 wraps of heroin she ingested burst.  

When searching her house, police officers found the wrap of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 54 grams.
