DUSHANBE, November 11, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Moldavian capital Chisinau has hosted the 8th session of the council of head of state news agencies of the CIS member nations.   

The meeting has opened today and during two days, its participants are considering measures to expand information exchange among news agencies of member states of the CIS Information Council and issues related to developing a common stance on news agencies’ rights to information products, according to Ms. Maria Gutsalo, a spokeswoman for the CIS Executive Committee. 

They are also expected to consider the issue of further development of a joint information product “Information (Text) Service of the Association of National News Agencies of Member Nations of the CIS.”

Besides, a photo exhibition titled “My Country” and presentation of a photo album with the same name will be organized at Moldova’s National Ethnography and History Museum on sidelines of the session, the spokeswoman said.  

The photo album “My country” comprises photographs by CIS masters and it was published at the initiative of heads of the CIS state news agencies.  The publication contains 40 photographs from four different sectors: landscape; culture; social-political life; sports and calamities.
