Tajik citizens reminded of new entry requirements for travel to Russia

And about registration through the RuID mobile application

Роза Шапошник

Tajik citizens planning to travel to Russia for work or study after June 30, 2026, have been reminded once again about the necessity of pre-registration through the RuID mobile application. This was reported by the Representation of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population (MoLMEP) of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation..

According to the recommendations, it is necessary to submit an application in advance through the application before the trip. After approval, citizens will be able to purchase tickets and plan their entry.

It is also noted that from April 27, 2026, the Russian government’s decree No. 468, which introduces additional requirements for the entry and stay of foreign citizens, has come into force.

In particular, the experiment on collecting biometric data at entry through major checkpoints, including Moscow airports, has been extended until the end of 2027.

Moreover, from June 30, 2026, a separate procedure for submitting applications for foreign drivers engaged in international transportation will come into effect.

The Representation recommends that citizens familiarize themselves with the new immigration rules of Russia in advance.

Previously, the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe reported on its Telegram channel that filling out an application in the RuID app was voluntary. The absence of a completed application did not affect border control procedures and was not a reason for denial of entry.

At the same time, the Migration Service at the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan and the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan recommended that foreign citizens still fill out the application before traveling.

This provided a number of advantages, including:

— the possibility to check in advance for any entry restrictions to Russia from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs;

— the formation of a digital profile, which allowed interaction with government agencies and organizations online, such as obtaining a voluntary medical insurance policy or registering as self-employed;

— automatic issuance of a SNILS upon entry to Russia based on the information specified in the application. SNILS was necessary, in particular, for concluding a communication contract and purchasing a SIM card.

How should Tajik citizens now prepare for a trip to Russia? More details on this can be found in our material.
