DUSHANBE, November 17, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The European Week will be held at the State Russian Drama Theatre named after Vladimir Mayakovsky in Dushanbe from November 24-28.   

The event is organized by the European Commission Delegation in Tajikistan and the Bactria Culture Center in Dushanbe.     

According to the Bactria Culture Center, the European Week is the event dedicated to promoting intercultural dialogue and tolerance as the European Commission proposed that 2008 be “European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.”  The European Week aims to familiarize Tajik wide audience with culture of the European countries.   

The program will be opened with a concert “Folk-Falak” and a series of movies by European filmmakers will be demonstrated during the Week.   

A conference formally titled “EU Strategy for Central Asia and Its Priorities in Tajikistan” for specialists and students and an exhibition entitled “Original Copy” will be held on sidelines of the event.
