DUSHANBE, November 29, 2008, Asia-Plus  — State and further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union were the focus of a meeting of Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) with the EU delegation in Dushanbe on November 27, according to the CCI press service.

In the course of the talks, the CCI head briefed representatives of the European Union on investment climate in Tajikistan, noting that the sides had good potentials for expansion of economic cooperation.

For his part, the EU delegation head told of the EU strategy for Central Asia and projects the European Union has implemented in the region.

Sharif Said proposed to consider the possibility of holding a business forum with participation of entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and the European Union in Dushanbe.

The sides also considered issues related to training of personnel for Tajikistan, the press service said.
