Khujand, December 3, Asia-Plus  — Construction of a new spinning mill, Olimi Karimzod-M, is under way in Sughd’s Mastchoh district and some 50 percent of the enterprise has been built so far, Asia-Plus has learned from Nabi Tohirov, the head of the Sughd construction department.

According to him, some 95 percent of metallic structural units has already been delivered to the district by China’s Xi Pong.  “The estimated budget for construction of the mill’s building is 5 million US dollars; they have spent 3.5 million dollars so far,” he said.

“As far as technological equipment is concerned, the enterprise has concluded a contract with internationally known company, Rietez, for delivery of US$22.57 million worth of equipment that will allow to process up to 5,000 tons of cotton fiber per year,” the Sughd official said.

Two other spinning mills with the same capacity are being built in Spitamen and Zafarobod districts.  “Another one, Nikou-Khujand, has already been constructed in the regional center and they are currently installing equipment,” Tohirov noted.
