DUSHANBE, December 4, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The UNDP CO Tajikistan today handed over US$25,000 worth of technical aid to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), according to Safarbek Soliyev, External Relations Advisor, UNDP Dushanbe Office.

The assistance included office equipment and furniture for five training classes in the ministry itself and police directorates of Gorno Badakhshan, Sughd and Khatlon (Qurghon Teppa and Kulob) provinces, as well as law books for officers from the law enforcement agencies.

According Soliyev, in the frames of the project enhancing peace and promoting human rights in Tajikistan, the UNDP has provided assistance to the MoI and its regional sub-divisions with development of potential of personnel through conducting training on human rights issues and providing technical assistance.
