DUSHANBE, December 5, 2008, Asia-Plus — International three-day conference entitled “Drug Addiction Prevention: Concepts, Strategies and Ways of Solution” is concluding in Tashkent, Uzbekistan today.
According to press service of the Ministry of Health (MoH), the event staged by UNODC in association with UNICEF, UNESCO and Uzbekistan’s health ministry and drug control center, brought together specialists from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as representatives of international organizations implementing drug abuse prevention projects to consider achievements and the latest surveys in this field.
Mirzosharif Odinayev, the head of the information analysis department within the MoH center for drug control and drug addiction prevention, has represented Tajikistan at the conference.
Today, the conference participants are considering national and regional strategies for drug addiction prevention, the press service said.
