12 suicide cases reported in Gorno Badakhshan this year

KHOROG, December 15, 2008, Asia-Plus  — An 18-year-old student at Khorog State University Immatsho Rahmatshoyev committed suicide by self-hanging on Saturday December 13, bring a total number of officially registered suicide cases in Gorno Badakhshan to 12, Mizrob Dorobov, a spokesman for the GBAO police directorate, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, Immatsho Rahmatshoyev, who is resident of the village of Nimot in the Roshtqala district committed suicide in a house, which he had rented in Khorog.  The cause of the suicide is under investigation.

“In all, 12 suicide cases have been officially registered in the region this year,” said Dorobov, “Three of those who committed suicide are women and nine are men.”
