QURHGON TEPPA, January 15, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A mini oil mill with capacity of producing 1 ton of cooking (cotton) oil per day has been launched in Khatlon’s Shahritus district.  

 Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Shahritus chairman Kholmahmad Rahmonov said that the mill had been constructed at local dairy factory.  “Besides, we also plan to construct a new dairy workshop” Rahmonov said.  

According to him, construction of the mini oil mill has allowed creating 12 new jobs and a number of other new jobs will be created with opening of the new dairy workshop.  

He also added that local poultry farm was reintroduced into operation in September after being closed for a long time.  “Some 30 new jobs have been created at the poultry farm, which currently produces more than 1,000 eggs per day,” the Shahritus chairman said.
