DUSHANBE, December 16, 2008, Asia-Plus — By Dushanbe mayor’s resolution a New Year concert will be held on the Dousti Square on December 31 and it will be followed by 15-minute fireworks.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that by this resolution Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev had revoked his resolution of January 2 2008 banning holding of any shows and concerts on the main square of the city.

“The concert will start at 8:00 p.m. and last for 1 hour and 45 minutes,” said the spokesman, “The concert will be followed by 15-minute festive fireworks.”

On December 31, festive events and concerts will be held in all the four parks of Dushanbe from 12:00 to 14:00.

On December 27, the New Year show for children will be held at the Dushanbe Circus.  Pupils from the city schools and orphanages will be invited to attend the show, Saidov said.
