DUSHANBE, December 19, 2008, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon has offered to develop the 180 Days of Reforms program to support further development of private sector in the country and attract foreign and domestic investments as well as creation of new jobs in the country.

He remarked this while addressing the second session of the Consultative Council for Enhancement of Tajikistan’s Investment Climate in Dushanbe on December 18, according to presidential press service.

The session considered issues related to improvement of the system of management and licensing in the country to ensure further enhancement of the investment climate and attraction of direct foreign investments.

Speaking at the meeting, President Rahmon who is the chairman of this consultative council charged relevant ministries and organizations to prepare documents for reform of the licensing system with shortest possible delay and submit it for consideration to him.

The council also discussed ways to improve the country’s construction sector, the press service said.

The Consultative Council for Enhancement of Tajikistan’s Investment Climate was established in January 2008.  The council is dedicated to promote enhancement of the business environment in Tajikistan and attraction of investments for further socioeconomic development of the country and provide an efficient interaction between the state institutions in this direction.  The council is a consultative-deliberative body at the president for developing recommendations and proposals for the head of state, government and other state institutions on improvement of the business environment in the country.  The fist session of the council was held in Dushanbe last July.
