DUSHANBE, December 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A Moscow-headquartered money transfer network, Unistream, has extended money transfer services in Tajikistan, signing a partnership agreement with closed joint-stock company (CJSC) Fononbank.

Taking into consideration that there are more 500 outlets in Tajikistan where its services are available, Unistream is strengthening its positions in this significant segment of the Central Asian corridor.

Being one of the most important sectors of the whole market of money transfer services, Tajikistan has been and will remain very attractive segment as country generating stable labor migration flows, press release issued by Unistream said.

Unistream currently cooperates with 11 financial institutions in Tajikistan, including large banks such as Tajprombank, Agroinvestbonk and Eskhata Bank.   The transaction volumes in Tajikistan increased from 439 million dollars in 2007 to 700 million dollars in 2008.

Unistream offers a wide range of money transfer services to the clientele around the world.  The Unistream money transfer system has been operating and expanding since 2001. It was founded by the Uniastreum bank, and has grown into a network with over 70,000 outlets where Unistream services are available, in 90 countries worldwide.
