DUSHANBE, December 26, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Ms. Gulmira Hamroqulova, chairperson of the accounting and auditing methodology directorate within the Ministry of Finance (MoF), represented Tajikistan at a session of the coordination council for accounting within the CIS Executive Committee that was held in Moscow recently.

The source at a MoF said that the session participants had confirmed their adherence to development of development of accounting and auditing systems based on international standards and practices, and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

The session discussed issues related to coordination of actions of bodies, authorized by the CIS member nations to regulate the financial accounting issues, on cooperating with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), the source said.

Organized by Russia’s Institute of Professional Accountants and Auditors, Budget and Treasury Academy with the Finance Ministry under support of the State Duma (Russia’s lower chamber of parliament), brought together representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
