DUSHANBE, January 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — in 2008, Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) rendered nearly 3.5 million somoni worth of services, which is 38 percent more than it was originally planned and 964,800 somoni more than in 2007, first deputy head of CCI Asanali Karamaliyev announced at a press conference I Dushanbe on January 13.

Over the report period, CCI granted more than 13,000 certificates and 150 licenses, which is 28 percent more than it was planned.

“Last year, CCI signed 182 agreements with chambers of commerce and industry of the CIS states and other countries,” said Karamaliyev, “45 representative offices of our Chamber currently function abroad.  In 2008, 33 international and republican exhibitions and fairs were organized and more than 100 meetings with senior representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Tajikistan, business delegations, companies and enterprises of various countries were held.”
