DUSHANBE, January 28, 2009, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon received Latvian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Igors Apokins, on January 28.

According to presidential press service, the upcoming president of Tajik leader to Latvia due in early February was one of major topics of the talks.  During the meeting, it was noted that both sides expect good results from the visit.

Rahmon and Apokins noted that Tajikistan and Latvia had good potentials for expansion of bilateral cooperation in sectors like transportation, processing of farm produce and cotton fiber, as well as construction of small and medium-sized hydropower facilities in Tajikistan, the press service said.
