DUSHANBE, February 10, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Foreign Ministry intends to appoint honorable consuls in a number of Russia’s regions in the near future, according to the MFA information department.

“The Tajik side applied to Russian MFA on this subject at the end of last year already and we are currently waiting for response to our application,” the source at the MFA information department said.

According to him, former our fellow-countrymen that are now Russian nationals and are held in respect in Russian society will be appointed as Tajik honorable consuls.  The honorable consuls will work in the Russian regions, in which there are no Tajik diplomatic representative offices, the source said.
