DUSHANBE, February 12, 2009, Asia-Plus  – The state publishing house, Sharqi Ozod, which prints the majority of state-run and independent newspapers and magazines, has been put on a list of vital sites in Dushanbe and will not be affected by electricity rationing introduced in the Tajik capital, Asia-Plus has learned from Dushanbe city spokesman Shavkat Saidov.

“The decision on putting Sharqi Ozod on the list of vital sites was made by the mayor’s office jointly with Barqi Tojik power holding,” Saidov said, noting that electricity will be supplied to the publishing house regularly.

According to him, the vital sites include medical facilities, post office, airport, railway station and other facilities of the nationwide significance.

As it had been reported earlier, new power rationing, introduced in Dushanbe on February 10, imposed a limit on residential customers of eleven hours per day – four hours of electricity in the morning and seven hours in the evening.
