KHOROG, March 10, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The national Pamiri dress and cuisine exhibition was held in Khorog on occasion of Women’s Day, which is marked on March 8.

Some ten local public associations participated at the exhibition, putting on display their products, including Pamiri jurab (woolen socks), dress, national cuisine as well as various drinks produced from local herbs.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the chairperson of the Khorog-based NGO Madad, Ms. Sabzbahor Bulbulshoyeva, said that their association had conducted surveys in different regions of Gorno Badakhshan and designed traditional Pamiri dresses, having restored 5 types of traditional Pamiri women’s dresses.
