DUSHANBE, March 10, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A training entitled “Quality of Vocational Education and requirements of the Labor Market” has opened at the Republican Institute for Teachers’ Advanced Training in Dushanbe today morning.

The source at the Institute for Teachers’ Advanced Training said that the training was part of the project “The Support to Vocational Education and Training in Tajikistan – Phase II.”

Financed by the European Commission, the project is implemented by dvv international in Tajikistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Education (MoE), which is the main responsible body for vocational education and training (VET) in the country.  The project that has worked in Tajikistan since January 2008 supports the development of curricula for training courses for unemployed and labor migrants.  As the main responsible body for VET, the ministry is also involved in all other activities implemented by dvv international in Tajikistan.

The main objective of the training is to make members of working groups of the project and heads of basic vocational education facilities aware of different methods of developing curricula for training courses for unemployed and labor migrants and expanding social partnership between basic vocational education facilities and employers, the source said.
