DUSHANBE, March 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Prospects of textile industry cooperation were a major topic of a March 13 meeting of the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Trade (CCI), Mr. Sharif Said, with visiting Turkish delegation led by general manager of Turkey’s TELASAN, Mr. Refik Karasa (phonetically spelled), according to the CCI press service.

Turkish delegation arrived in Tajikistan to get acquainted with state of Tajikistan’s textile industry and discuss opportunities of launching joint venture for producing textile products.

Sharif Said proposed Turkish entrepreneurs to consider the possibility of launching joint ventures on the basis of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Tekstil (Textile) and other textile enterprises in the country.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Turkish entrepreneurs invited their Tajik colleagues to attend an exhibition that will be held in Istanbul in June this year, the press service said.

The Turkish delegation consisted of Cevdet Dogan from Supermarket Dogan, Selim Mert from Mertas Textile, and general secretary of Turkish-Tajik Association of Entrepreneurs and Investors Mustafa Beyaz.
