KHUJAND, March 20, 2009, Asia-Plus — More than 10 kilograms of heroin were intercepted in Sughd’s Bobojonghafurov district on March 19, according to the Sughd police directorate.

12 packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 10.27 kilograms were found in a car belonging to the 38-year-old resident of Khujand Ayub Ahmadov.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Ahmadov on the provisions of Article 200 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – trafficking in narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors.
