KHUJAND, April 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Over the first three months of this months, officers from the Sughd police directorate have seized some 170 kilograms of drugs, Asia-Plus has learned at the department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) within the Sughd police directorate.

A totaled included some 48 kilograms of heroin, some 8 kilograms of raw opium and some 114 kilograms of marijuana.

Fifty criminal proceedings on drug charges have been instituted in the province over the report period, the source said.
