DUSHANBE, April 14, 2009, Asia-Plus — Minister of Culture Mirzoshorukh Asrori will join his counterparts from member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) at the sixth meeting of the SCO culture ministers that will be held in Kazan (Russian Federation) from April 26-28, according to the Ministry of Culture (MoC).
Anvar Yusupov, a spokesman for a MoC, said the meeting would consider issues related to implementation of the plan of multilateral cultural cooperation of the SCO member nations for 2007-2008 as well as the progress of implementation of the intergovernmental agreement between the SCO member states on cooperation in the filed of culture in 2009-2011.
The meeting participants are also expected to discuss preparation and holding of the fifth SCO art festival and the seventh international musical festival “Shark Taronalari” (The Melodies of East).
A handicraft exhibition entitled “Youth Creativity” will be held on sidelines of the SCO culture ministers’ meeting in Kazan, the spokesman said.
