DUSHANBE, April 16, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Academy of Sciences is hosting a roundtable meeting today to discuss the modern aluminum smelting technologies.

The event, staged by the Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Tajik Aluminum Company (Talco) is bringing together researchers and senior representatives from the government, industrial sector as well as independent experts to discuss issues related to production of aluminum in Tajikistan, its problems and prospects.

The Talco chief financial officer Sherali Kabirov will read paper at the conference on problems of functioning of the Tajik aluminum smelter under conditions of the financial crisis and new projects worked out by the company to improve financial processes and aluminum production technologies.
