DUSHANBE, April 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  – Tajikistan plans to make transfer to a 12-year education, Academician Mamadsho Ilolov, President of the Academy of Sciences, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 15.

According to him, the world standard of general secondary education is now based on the 12-year period of study.

This standard is accepted in the United States, Japan, Canada, France and many other countries and the transition to the 12-year standard will give Tajik school leaver an opportunity to enter universities in other countries, including the United, Canada, Japan and the European Union’s countries, the academician said.
