DUSHANBE, April 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — “Analysis of Economic Efficiency of Policy of Protection of Child’s Rights in Tajikistan” conducted jointly by the UNICEF Country Office and the Government of Tajikistan was presented in Dushanbe on April 17.

During the meeting it was noted that the main objective of the survey was to determine the most proper option of creating policy for protection of rights of children and discuss financial results of reforming the policy as a whole.

The survey, in particular, touches upon issues related to fiscal space, which is necessary for transition from the traditional system of protection of children based mainly on the government trusteeship to the modern system characterized by involving social programs in work with children and their families without isolation of children from families and communities.
