DUSHANBE, April 23, 2009, Asia-Plus — Water levels at the reservoir powering the Norak hydroelectric power station (HPS) have reached 858.22 meters above sea level and the water volume at the Norak reservoir is now 6.0478 billion cubic meters, Land Reclamation and Water Resources Minister Said Yoqubzod told reporters in Dushanbe on April 22.

According to him, these indices are 2.08 meters and 142 million cubic meters higher respectively compared to the same period of last year.

The minister noted that current rate of inflow into the reservoir was 500-520 cubic meters per second and the rate of the reservoir outflow was 540 cubic meters per second.
