DUSHANBE, May 8, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Issues related to visit of Wang Lequan, Xinjiang”s Communist Party secretary, to Tajikistan as well as seeking new business partners and investing in joint projects were discussed here on May 6 at a meeting of the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sharif Said with a government delegation of Chaina’s Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR), led by the head of the XUAR Department on Economy and Foreign Economic Relations He Imin, according to the CCI press service.

The sides also considered prospects of expansion of bilateral cooperation in the scientific-technological and health care spheres.

Representatives of  the XUAR delegation, in particular, said that Chinese companies intended to set up training centers on cocoon growing and organize production of disposable syringes and tomato paste in Tajikistan.

On the upcoming visit of Xinjiang”s Communist Party secretary to Tajikistan, Chinese guests noted that during his stay in Dushanbe Wang would hold talks with senior representatives from Tajikistan’s ministries of economic development and trade, energy and industries, and agriculture to discuss the possibility of concluding cooperation agreements, the CCI press service said.
