DUSHANBE, May 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Swiss Cooperation Office organizes an exhibition of paintings by the young Tajik artist Murodjon Sharipov.

According to the SDC Office in Dushanbe, the exhibition that will kick off on May 19 will last until June 15, from Monday through Friday.

Murodjon Sharipov was born on February 25, 1984 in Dushanbe in the well-known Tajik family of artists.  After finishing the Olimov Art College in 1999, Murodjon entered the Tursunzade Institute of Art, the Theatrical Faculty, Painting department, with specialty in Fine Art, which he graduated from in 2006.

Murodjon Sharipov worked as a designer in the Advertising Agency “Forex”, then as an artist-designer at the Lohuty Theater.  Currently he is working in the field of Contemporary Art and teaches computer design at the Olimov Art College.

Since 1999 Murodjon Sharipov has participated in various national and international exhibitions, having his paintings exhibited in the Behzod National Museum in frames of the project “Hub” (2007), international exhibition-competition “Socks” in Bishkek (2005), Tashkent Biennale (2005), Central House of Artists in Moscow (2000).  He also participated in contemporary art workshops like Starter and Tadsch-Au (Vienna).

Sharipov’s works are held in private collections of Columbia, Uzbekistan, Russia, USA, Germany and other countries.
