DUSHANBE, May 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) seized some 17 kilograms of narcotics yesterday.

The source at a MoI said that the Afghan national Muhammadorif valadi Hasanboy was detained in Khatlon’s Panj district on May 19.  Some 11 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated from.

The same day, package containing 4 kilograms of marijuana was confiscated from Sirojiddin Nazarov, resident of Khatlon’s Hamadoni district.

Besides, some two kilogram of marijuana were seized yesterday in three separate operations carried out in Dushanbe, Khatlon’s Danghara district and GBAO’s Ishkashim district.
