DUSHANBE, June 2, 2009, Asia-Plus — Egyptian authorities have decided to deport four Tajik nationals studying at Al-Azhar University in Cairo for various violations, including breaches of visa regulations, according to the Tajik MFA.
In early hours of last Wednesday (May 27), a group of foreign students, including 14 Tajik nationals, were detained in a police raid on Al-Azhar University. Seven of Tajik students were released the same day and seven others were held in Cairo prison till June 1.
On Monday, Egyptian authorities made a decision to deport four Tajik students, the source at a MFA said.
