DUSHANBE, June 4, 2009, Asia-Plus – A delegation of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) led by Xinjiang’s Communist Party Secretary Wang Lequan arrived in Dushanbe yesterday on a three-day visit.
According to the Central Committee of Tajikistan’s ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDPT), the XUAR delegation arrived in Tajikistan on invitation of President Emomali Rahmon who is also leader of the PDPT.
Today, the Xinjiang’s delegation is scheduled to hold talks with President Rahmon to discuss issues related to further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and China.
Besides, members of the Xinjiang’s delegation are also supposed to meet with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Minister of energy and Industries Gul Shearli and Minister of Transport and Communications Abdurahim Ashour.
During their stay in Tajikistan, the delegation members will also visit a number of Tajik-Chinese joint ventures and will sign appropriate cooperation documents with a number of ministries of Tajikistan.
Mr. Wang is also scheduled to hold talks with Chinese entrepreneurs working in Tajikistan.
