KHUJAND, June 17, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Sughd health directorate has received the HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C testing equipment.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Sughd health directorate head Jalil Toshmatov said that the equipment had been delivered under support of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The equipment worth 100,000 US dollars will be installed in the laboratory at the Sughd service for sanitary and epidemiologic supervision in Khujand.

“Now, residents of the province will not have to go to Dushanbe for undergoing tests for these infections,” said Toshmatov, “They will be able to undergo the tests here and get the test results in short term.”
