DUSHANBE, June 25, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday June 24, the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC) and the Secretariat of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), press release issued by IFHC said.

The document was singed by the IFHC’s Board Cochairman Mikhail Shvydkoy and the EAEC Secretary General Tair Mansurov.

The document lays legal foundation of further expansion of cooperation between these two interstate bodies in the field of science, education, technologies and innovations, press release said.

IFHC already signed such a document with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and under this document, they are implementing joint projects aimed at promoting development of museums, vocational-technical education and art education within the CIS area.

Established by resolution of the CIS council of heads of government on May 25, 2006, the Intestate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation is the board in the system of the CIS bodies that is responsible for accelerating and sponsoring the interdisciplinary projects aimed at solving definite tasks in the sphere of education, science, sports, information, tourism and youth cooperation.  Since 2007, IFHC has sponsored implementation of more than 90 humanitarian projects
