DUSHANBE, June 30, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Issues related to reforming the system of financing the health sector are the focus of a roundtable meeting that is being held in Dushanbe today, according to press service of the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Staged by a MoH and the Unit for Implementation of the Community and Basic Health Project (Project Implementation Unit or PIU), the meeting has brought together representatives of the MoH, medical facilities from the provinces, consultants from international organizations and representatives of donor partners for development to consider the results of financing of the health sector.

The meeting participants are also discussing the results of analytic surveys conducted by the ministry in cooperation with partners for development and making conclusion on the strategy of financing of the health sector for improving management of resources and fair use of medical service, reforming per capita financing as well as considering ways of reporting on management and inspection of health care structure, etc, the press service said.
