DUSHANBE, July 2, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A two-volume book on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in the Russian language was presented in Dushanbe on July 2.

Speaking at the book-presenting ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance, Jamoliddin Nouraliyev, who heads the Methodology Council on Accounting and Audit under the Governmental Commission for IFRS Introduction, said that the book had been published under support of the Ministry of Finance (MoF).  “In all, 590,000 somoni have been provided by the ministry for introduction of financial reporting standards and publication of 3,000 copies of the book,” said Nouraliyev, “This book in the Tajik language is expected to be published this month.”

According to him, publication of the book is an important step in “history of reforming accounting and financial reporting in Tajikistan.”  “Recommendations on using ARFS have also been published in two volumes; they will help heads of economic entities, specialists in financial management, accountants, audits, and teachers in their works,” the deputy minister said, noting that they want to publish more copies of the book and recommendations.  “However, this number will not exceed 10,000-15,000 copies.”
