DUSHANBE, July 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran should be an example of cooperation for other countries, Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Asghar Sherdoust remarked, while speaking at inauguration ceremony of an exhibition of Iran’s research, education and technological achievements in Dushanbe on July 6.

According to him, achievements of Iran’s education and science put on display in the exhibition will promote further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

For her part, Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Ms. Ruqiya Qurbonova, noted at the inaugurating ceremony that cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran as well as between universities of the two countries was expanding from year to year.

“Under appropriate agreements signed between our countries, more than 630 Tajiks currently study in different universities in Iran, and more than 950 Iranians currently study at educational facilities in Tajikistan,” Ms. Qurbonova said.

We will recall that 40 Iranian institutions, including universities, research centers, electronic libraries and industrial parks, have put on display their achievements in the three-day exhibition in Dushanbe that runs through July 8.
